This year we created a cultures card. It has our photo, my county’s flag, the national bird of my country and is says my name and where I am from in Te Reo Māori.

My next step is to learn more about the languages spoken in my country.
For our karakia learning this term, we want to be able to say and sing Kia Tau. We couldn’t find a video version of the song version so we made one ourselves.
In March, we took part in the Sport development Series day at Kyle Park which was organised by the the team at Sport Canterbury. Members from different sport clubs had games organised that our students moved around and had a go at.
It was a fantastic day and an awesome opportunity for students to try different sports. Here are a few pictures of the group that Miss Waho was with. BMX was a definite favourite.
For Fun Friday, a group of ākonga chose to do some Easter Egg scratch art. We used skewers to scratch of the black paint which revealed some beautiful colours.
